How good were they now, actually

Alright so we're "close" to the release of pokemon black and White, a new series with new pokemon, but what did you guys think of this serie? I mean the fourth generation.
I think it actually sucked. Alright these are harsh words and there certainly were a lot of new cool pokemon, but for me most of those cool ones were evolutions of gen1 or2
what did you guys think in general of all the new diamond/pearl/platinum pokemon.
